Leeds United have had a summer of missing out on some key attacking additions, even if the 49ers have operated well in the market to bring in nine players.
Igor Paixao was one of the players Leeds United had serious interest in, only for him to join French giants Olympique Marseille when a deal with Feyenoord was struck.
Other targets also have serious interest throughout Europe, which tells you that Leeds are shopping for the right kinds of players and profiles. Leeds have serious size and physicality but players with quality, too.
The 6’3″ Getafe midfielder Christantus Uche has emerged as yet another midfield option, with some reports claiming that Leeds were willing to activate Uche’s £21 million clause earlier in the summer.

Reports later on in the window then claimed that Leeds had intensified talks for Uche, and got further along than other interested parties such as Atletico Madrid and Newcastle United.
Uche’s agent has talked up a summer transfer for the Nigerian international. Everton have also been keen on Uche, while it’s reported that Uche could be valued at as little as £13 million.
Beren Cross then expected Leeds to maintain interest in Uche and others during the final weeks and up to the transfer deadline. Financially, it was then explained to us that Charlie Cresswell’s transfer could fund a Leeds move for Uche.
🚨🐺 Wolves have submitted official bid to Getafe worth €20m for Christantus Uche.

Liam Keen of The Express and Star then explained Wolves are closing in on the deal, with negotiations continuing over a move in the region of £17 million. He adds that there is still work to do on personal terms but there is hope of getting it over the line.

Bilal El Khannouss has been a Leeds target for some time now, but other interest has been evident for a while and Leeds will hope nothing materialises and their opportunity to pursue a deal rises again.
Crystal Palace’s El Khannouss move has stalled, even though the Moroccan is said to favour the move to the Eagles. El Khannouss wants to leave Leicester amid the talk of Palace’s situation being ‘tense’ with the Foxes.
In recent days, it’s also been claimed that El Khannouss favours a move to Leeds over Spurs should the deal to join Oliver Glasner’s side fall through. Leeds may well have hope in the race, with just over a week for a move to Palace to come to fruition.
As an attacking midfield profile, El Khannouss is much closer to the hybrid winger/No.10 Daniel Farke wants to add to his squad than the powerful box-crasher that is Uche.
