It’s all shaped up to be quite the busy month in London for Gorillaz. First up, there was the opening of the House of Kong exhibition at the Copper Box Arena, which also includes a run of the band playing legendary albums in full. Now, we’ve got news of a pop-up that landed in the city today to celebrate the band’s appearance in the video game, Fortnite.
The Gorillaz x Fortnite pop-up comes as the group make their debut in Fortnite’s universe in the season 10 package of the game, and it will run from today (August 26) until September 3, which coincides with the day of their final ‘mystery’ show at the Copper Box Arena.

As a ‘headliner’ band for Fortnite Festival season 10, players will be able to unlock skins of all four members of Gorillaz, as well as the ‘jam tracks’ that include the likes of DARE, Clint Eastwood, and Up On Melancholy Hill.
As for the pop-up, it’s referred to as ‘Fortnite Festival IRL’, and you can find it over at Hackney Bridge Garden. You can expect an event that “merges the worlds of Gorillaz and Fortnite into an immersive experience filled with gaming stations, giveaways, live game streams and DJ performances”.
It’s set to be a celebratory affair for fans of Gorillaz and gaming alike, and if you’re getting hyped up for one of the Gorillaz concerts that kick off this week, it’s the perfect way to kill some time by enjoying more of the band and their latest Fortnite escapades.
