When kids have parents with drastically different accents, it can be fun to see who they take after more. Like Bindi Irwin’s daughter Grace, who has the cutest Aussie accent despite her dad Chandler Powell being American. But what about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s kids, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4? Their dad is British and their mom American — so what accent do they have? Markle opened up about how her kids talk on Season 2 of With Love, Meghan, and it sounds like they have the cutest mix of both parents.
In episode 206, Markle cooks with Chef Clare Smyth. They get to chatting about Markle’s kids, and she revealed that the kids have a hybrid accent, per PEOPLE. She shared, “They both say ‘zeb-rah’ though instead of zebra.” So cute! I love how kids will pick up these little pronunciation differences, despite growing up and going to school in America. It’s adorable!

When the cook with their mom, however, it’s all American. “Papa’s not cooking as much,” she added, explaining why the kids don’t have any British terms in the kitchen.
It makes sense. Growing up as part of the British royal family, Harry always had chefs to cook for him. (Plus, the occasional trip to McDonald’s with his mom, Princess Diana!) So, we can imagine why he never developed a love for cooking (I mean, who would in those circumstances?!).
The Duchess of Sussex also got vulnerable about a difficult time in her and Prince Harry’s life: when they had to be separated from their kids for nearly three weeks due to Queen Elizabeth II’s death in 2022. In episode 203 with Tan France, Markle shared that motherhood is “better than I ever expected.”

The Queer Eye star, who shares sons Ismail, 4, and Isaac, 2, with husband Rob, opened up about not wanting his kids to ever grow up. “I never want my children to leave,” he said, per PEOPLE. “They’re not allowed to get married. Not allowed to leave my house.”
“I’ll miss them so much,” Markle agreed. “You want to be the parent who’s like yes, go do it. Go do your thing. Go live that life. But I’m going to miss you so much.”
When France admitted that he “might die” without his kids and feels like “my heart is broken” after not seeing them for a few days, Markle shared how hard it was for her to be away from her kids at the Queen’s funeral, when they were only 3 and 15 months. Markle and Harry were in Europe for charity events shortly before the Queen’s death, and they had to extend their trip to travel to the U.K. when she became ill.
“Oh I know. The longest I went without being around our kids was almost three weeks,” she admitted. “I was…not well.”
Poor Markle! Going through a family death, navigating the rules of the royal family and being in the public eye, and being separated from your kids at the same time — we can only imagine how difficult that was for her.
