Viva Kids today announced that it has re-dated the North American theatrical release of Grand Prix of Europe, which will now race into cinemas on November 7 (previously slated for Aug. 29). The family-friendly, CG-animated adventure centers on a young aspiring race car driver (voiced by Gemma Arterton) whose dreams come true when she gets the opportunity to follow in her hero’s tire tracks.
An updated trailer with the new release date was shared with the announcement.
Synopsis: Grand Prix of Europe revolves around Edda, a young mouse, who dreams of racing glory. When Edda’s world takes an unexpected turn, she disguises herself as her racing idol, the legendary Ed, and seizes the once-in-a-lifetime chance to drive in the Grand Prix. What starts as a daring stunt becomes the ride of her life as she takes Ed’s place in competition. The prize money would save her family’s amusement park and a win would save Ed’s title.
The English-language voice cast features Gemma Arterton (Moley, The Girl with All the Gifts) as Edda, Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Wolf Hall, Thunderbirds Are Go) as Ed, Hayley Atwell (Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, MCU’s Peggy Carter) as Cindy, Lenny Henry (Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power) as Erwin and comedian Rob Beckett (Epic Tails, Meet the Richardsons) as Enzo.
Grand Prix of Europe is directed by Waldemar Fast, who has worked in the animation industry as a director and animator for over 20 years. The screenplay is by Kirstie Falkous (Monster Family 1 & 2), Jeffrey Hylton (Mechamoto, Taffy) and John T. Reynolds (Taffy, The Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show) with Ben Alexander Safier.
The film was produced by Michael Mack, Managing Partner of Europa-Park and Founder of the entertainment company MACK Magic. It was created in the MACK Animation studios in Hanover (Animals United, Monster Family franchise).
