Meghan Markle is all about custom gifts from the heart.
In a new season 2 episode of her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex showed off her packing technique and travel essentials as she prepared for a girls’ weekend in Los Angeles with longtime pal Heather Dvorak.
As she packed, Meghan admitted, “I normally dress monochromatically, not because I think it’s stylish — because I think it’s really easy.”
She also always packs photos of her family, including her husband, Prince Harry, and their kids, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4.

“I just went on a girls’ trip recently, and my girlfriends were like, ‘Oh my gosh, that’s so sweet, you keep it by the side of your bed,’ ” Meghan recalled. “It’s like, yeah, you could look at your phone, but it’s just — I don’t know. I’m sentimental in that way.”
Another essential is a sweet gift that Meghan made to celebrate Prince Harry’s 40th birthday last September: a baseball cap decorated with “PH 40.”
“Now we get into the things that bring me joy,” she said. “I always have a baseball cap. I made these for my husband’s 40th birthday for him and his friends.”

On their trip back to their “old stomping grounds” in Los Angeles, Meghan and Heather visited a pottery studio, where Meghan created yet another sweet homemade gift. She made a plate, decorated with the phrase “Good morning, my love,” and a heart — surely for Harry, the kids, or the whole family to enjoy breakfast on.
They also met with a mixologist to craft some specialty cocktails, which brought back memories of Meghan’s past L.A. jobs.
“I’ve never been a bartender. I was a great hostess,” she shared. “Remember when I was a hostess at Mirabelle? On Sunset. Oh god. It was a great job.”
“He was like, ‘You want to be a waitress?’ I was like, ‘I’m really good at hostessing.’ That is not my lane, and I understood my lane. So no, I will take less tips but do the only thing I’m really good at. Welcome!” Meghan reminisced.

The episode ended with a tribute to the victims and first responders affected by the wildfires that devastated areas of Los Angeles earlier this year.
“This episode, filmed in the heart of Malibu, is dedicated to the first responders and all those affected by the devastating fires that swept through communities across California in early 2025. With love, to all our neighbors,” it read.
Meghan delayed the initial release of With Love, Meghan’s first season, due to the fires, which a source told PEOPLE at the time was “likely an easy decision for her.”
“I don’t think she could imagine putting out a show centered on joy and hosting when so many people in her home state no longer have homes to host people in,” an industry insider said. “I think it’s sad that critics are saying she’s only doing this to avoid the fires overshadowing her show. We’re all human, and we’re dealing with a catastrophe.”
It was her family’s 2020 move from the U.K. to Montecito, California, that motivated Meghan to embark on her own creative ventures once again, through With Love, Meghan and her product line, As ever. She exclusively told PEOPLE ahead of the show’s launch in March that it’s been a “super joyful” and fulfilling journey so far.
“When your children get to a certain age — when you’re not just playing in the sandbox with them but almost playing in your own sandbox again — it’s super joyful,” she said. “As a woman, a mom and a wife, to be able to find yourself again — in a way that was always present but that you maybe couldn’t put as much attention on as you now can when your kids are a little bit older — is a wonderful feeling.”
With Love, Meghan season 2 is streaming now on Netflix.
