If, and always if, he comes to power in Britain after nearly 4 years, with his Reform party, the one otherwise known as the Father of Brexit, Nigel Farage, says he will arrest and deport around 600 asylum seekers to the countries they came from, and this is mainly, and not only, about those who come by dinghy from the English Channel.
Farage, a speculator and political opportunist, who with his lies brainwashed the British who voted to leave the EU, is also the reason why Britain today cannot apply the Dublin Convention, which allowed every asylum seeker to be returned to the first safe country in the EU where he applied for asylum!
This is both the reason and the byproduct of why Britain is no longer able to return thousands of arrivals each month to France, which unloads migrants on English shores, who are then housed in hotels, and ordinary Britons are frustrated by the inability of today’s government, but also of its predecessors, to resolve this crisis of confidence in governance.
Nigel Farage sees opportunities for political gain and the latest poll by The Times shows that 71 percent of respondents think Starmer is not handling the immigration crisis properly, and of these 56 percent are Labour voters.
This crisis has, among other things, put Farage’s Reform party 22 points ahead of the ruling Labour party in the polls! Labour says Farage’s Trump-like immigration policies are policies written “on a cigarette pack”.
Maybe they are right, but Farage plays from the stands and does not provide any explanation as to how, despite the 2 billion he will make available, he will convince these countries to deport asylum seekers to places like Taliban Afghanistan, Eritrea or Iran, and how much these expensive flights to distant places will cost.
This is not even an agreement with Albania, which is mentioned in his plans, which has repeatedly stated that it will not become a dumping ground for immigrants from the richest countries in the West, even if London offered it as much or more than Rwanda, where only 4 asylum seekers went voluntarily for 700 million pounds given to the African country.
British politicians, as long as they do not understand the real reasons why Britain has become an El Dorado for immigrants, unless they have another unarticulated economic agenda, cannot act. Britain, which is getting warmer due to global warming, which increases the number of dinghy crossings, has difficult crossings to curb with the often naive tools and policies of the moment.
These crossings have only been stopped by warships, in the middle of the sea, which would be unthinkable between France and Britain, NATO countries.
Until therapy is found, Nigel Farage will remain a threat and power aspirant in a Britain that has lost its former reputation, sometimes from half-truths and more often from the Brexit champion’s lies and harmful speculations, populist tactics that have shown to work even in countries with consolidated democracies.
