Police have launched a murder investigation and charged a man following the death of an 87-year-old man in Lewisham on Sunday night.
Police and the London Ambulance Service were called around 01:00 am on Sunday, 24 August to an address on Wellmeadow Road, near Hither Green Lane, following reports of a death at the property.
Brian Hunt, 87, was declared dead at the scene. His next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by specially-trained officers.

A post-mortem examination held on Monday, 25 August gave the cause of death as compression of the neck.
Vasile Iosebica, 47, of Wellmeadow Road, Lewisham, was arrested on suspicion of murder and was subsequently charged on Tuesday, 26 August.
He appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 26 August.
The victim and Iosebica were known to each other, police have said.
