Prince William And Kate Middleton Are Very Selective About The Events They Attend

Prince William’s aunt, Princess Anne, has already accused him of not pulling his weight, as she claimed that she was “annoyed” that he didn’t host as many royal investitures as he could, leaving her to do most of the work. And now, a new report has claimed that the Prince and Princess of Wales are very selective when it comes to the events they attend.

Part of this is reportedly because they want to focus on their three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis – and maintain proper work/life balance, and the other part is to protect their mental health. Princess Catherine’s overall health is also a factor, as she is said to still be taking it easy after battling cancer.

Insider Says Prince William And Kate Middleton Are ‘Very Strict About Their Boundaries’

According to Us Weekly, a royal insider claimed that the Prince and Princess of Wales “are very strict about their boundaries,” particularly when it relates to “their mental health and family life.”

They went on: “They have witnessed how the role of monarch can consume one’s entire being… While they take their responsibilities very seriously, they are not afraid to say no when necessary.”

While many people respect the future King and Queen, there are many others who disagree with their choices. The mom-of-three previously faced backlash for not attending Royal Ascot earlier this year, with a royal insider claiming it was disrespectful to King Charles by not attending.

“I am sure she was genuinely unable to come, yet the last-minute nature of the way it was announced makes the king look disrespected,” the insider told the Daily Beast at the time. They added: “Kate wasn’t feeling up to it, but there is no denying that the whole affair was badly handled.”

The internet also pointed out that she was able to attend Wimbledon twice, and also had a lot to say about the vacations the Prince and Princess of Wales have taken this year alone, including the French Alps, Mustique, and Kefalonia. The internet believes there is some kind of hypocrisy there, as they seem to have a lot of time and energy to go on vacation while skipping royal engagements.

Kate Middleton Slammed On Social Media

“Kate Middleton steps back from duties (9 solo engagements, 22 engagements with William) but steps forward with no struggle for vacations (French Alps-Jan. & April, Mustique, Greece, etc.) #workshyWales,” one critic wrote on X.

“She can’t work unless it’s to watch men in tight shorts playing tennis. She also needs an emotional support mansion and yacht. Us commoners couldn’t possibly understand,” replied a second, as a third quipped: “The real question is, when was she ever really working?”

“She can spend the weeks skiing, but cannot possibly turn up for the charities she is a patron of,” slammed a fourth. “If Kate can take multiple vacations to Mustique, the French Alps, and Greece, why is she too fragile for routine appearances?” asked a fifth.

The comments continued over on Reddit, where a sixth asked: “Are 5 vacations not enough to give her work/life balance?” “It is very hard to have a work life balance when you only work a few times a year,” a seventh concurred, as an eighth declared: “She’s allergic to work.”
