A Glasgow west end restaurant was “honoured” to welcome a true football legend as Sir Alex Ferguson dropped in.

A smiling Sir Alex Ferguson was pictured in Glasgow’s west end as the legendary football manager enjoyed a Friday night out at a highly-regarded restaurant.
Govan-born Sir Alex, 83, was pictured smiling with staff at La Lanterna on Great Western Road as he enjoyed a meal on Friday night.
La Lanterna has become a favourite spot for Glasgow’s football superstars, reports Glasgow Live, with Rangers legend Peter Løvenkrands and Celtic keeper Kasper Schmeichel spotted sharing a meal at the venue just days ago.
In July, three of Celtic’s Japanese stars were snapped at the restaurant, as Hoops hero Reo Hatate showed new arrivals and fellow countrymen around Shin Yamada and Hayato Inamura around the city.

The legendary Manchester United manager, who also brought European glory to Aberdeen and briefly coached Scotland, has been making a tour of the west end’s best restaurants, including a stop at Ox and Finch in July.
Since retiring from management, Sir Alex, has dedicated time to a charity that uses music therapy to aid individuals battling dementia.
He is still a regular at the bakery, Watsons, in Govan where he once brought his Manchester United team with staff there describing him as an “absolute gentleman” who has a “really good sense of humour.”
In a post to social media, staff at La Lanterna wrote: “An unforgettable Friday at La Lanterna. It was an absolute honour to host the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson.
“Thank you for gracing us with your presence, and we can’t wait to welcome you back soon.”
