Manchester United earned their first win of the season on Saturday afternoon with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Burnley at Old Trafford.

After being pegged back twice by the newly-promoted side, United responded to Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup defeat at Grimsby Town owing to Bruno Fernandes’ injury-time penalty.

Now, attention turns to the remaining two days of the transfer window.

United have completed the majority of their business, but there is still time for one or two more late deals.

With that in mind, The Manchester Evening News brings you the latest transfer news;

Senne Lammens update

David Ornstein has claimed that United’s proposed swoop for Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens isn’t as advanced as others have made out in the last week.

United are thought to be keen on adding the Belgian stopper to Ruben Amorim’s squad before Monday’s deadline. However, the journalist has provided an update on the move.

“Lammens is a player of interest, but it’s not as advanced as some people have suggested,” he said.

“They’ve also got an issue there, can they move on Andre Onana, it doesn’t look like it.

“Altay Bayindir, possibly, so that’s one to watch before the deadline.”

The Manchester Evening News says: “If United are not planning on using Lammens as their No.1 and they fail to get Bayindir out the door, it feels rather pointless adding another goalkeeper.

“Onana isn’t going anywhere it seems and Bayindir’s interest from Europe has gone quiet. Lammens might be one that they focus on in January, if the performance levels of Onana and Bayindir don’t improve.”

Kobbie Mainoo contact made

Tottenham are reportedly making a late dash to sign United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo with TEAMtalk suggesting that initial contacts have already taken place.

The report adds that Spurs are hoping to strike-up a late deal for the 20-year-old with his future at United unclear. Mainoo came off the subs bench at half-time in the win over Burnley – but he’s reportedly open to leaving the club.

The Manchester Evening News says: “Amorim has said previously that he wants Mainoo to stay at the club and fight for his place. Before Burnley, his actions didn’t match that, but the decision to bring him off the bench at half-time was the first signal that the Portuguese wants to keep him.

“However, for United and Mainoo, a big-money move could work wonders for both parties. Right now, it seems unlikely that a deal will materialise this late in the window but in January, there’s definitely a possibility.”
