DOLNY KUBIN, Slovakia – The U.S. Women’s National Sled Hockey Team will take on Great Britain here today (Aug. 30) in the semifinals of the World Para Ice Hockey Women’s Championship at Winter Stadium.
Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. local time/1:30 p.m. ET. The game will stream live on the World Para Ice Hockey Facebook page and the Paralympics YouTube channel.
Team USA enters the contest with a 2-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record after skating to a 10-0 victory over Norway on Thursday (Aug. 28) in a preliminary-round contest. Kelsey DiClaudio (Plum, Pa.) tallied five goals and an assist in the victory. Team USA also beat Australia 8-0 in the preliminary round on Tuesday (Aug. 26).
Great Britain enters the contest with a 1-0-0-1 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record, dropping its second preliminary-round contest to Canada on Thursday after earning a 2-1 victory over Team World the day prior.
The winner of the contest will advance to the gold-medal game tomorrow (Aug. 31) and will face off against the winner of today’s matchup between Canada and Norway. Puck drop for the gold-medal game is set for 7 p.m. local time/1 p.m. ET, and the game will stream live on the World Para Ice Hockey Facebook page and the Paralympics YouTube channel.
