West Ham are close to landing a deadline day deal ahead of Crystal Palace.
The Eagles are in desperate need of defensive reinforcements as Marc Guehi looks destined to leave Selhurst Park in a move to Liverpool.
That sentiment has been echoed at the London Stadium as the Hammers also remain eager to sign a centre-back before the window slams shut.
This comes as Nayef Aguerd looks set to leave and join Marseille for £19.9million in the final hours before the 7pm deadline on 1 September.
With that being said, Graham Potter looks set to land a target ahead of Palace, landing a dagger blow to Oliver Glasner and Co. in the process.

Deadline day has seen West Ham linked to Charlie Cresswell at Toulouse, but it appears as if another defensive signing is going to go to the wire.
This comes as West Ham maintains interest in Brighton defender Igor Julio, who had looked set for a move to the Eagles.
Julio was undergoing a medical at Palace, amid West Ham links, but it now looks as if a move to Selhurst Park is off the table for the Brazilian.
Charlie Parker-Turner reported on 1 September that the 27-year-old has decided against joining Crystal Palace despite work to complete a deal.
Now, fresh talks have kicked off at West Ham with Julio ahead of a potential season-long loan switch to the London Stadium.
🚨EXC: DEAL OFF! With Crystal Palace working on defensive signings and minutes therefore not guaranteed, Igor has decided against joining Oliver Glasner’s side.
Instead, he is now in talks to join West Ham on a season-long loan. Deadline day drama.#BHAFC #WHUFC #CPFC https://t.co/j48ln7jbVE

West Ham to push for Igor Julio loan deal
It may not be the most glamorous signing, but the addition of the former Fiorentina man will represent positive depth under Graham Potter.
The left-footer is comfortable as a centre-half or as a left-back, something which could be hugely useful in the current system in E20.
Igor Julio’s strengths:
- Holding onto the ball
- Short passes
- Dribbling
- Doesn’t dive into tackles
If the English head coach is to continue his five at the back approach, the Brighton man could fit in perfectly at the London Stadium.
This is especially the case given comments that Former Brighton and Hove Albion coach Inigo Calderon has shared about Julio, describing him as “an animal” at the back.
Now, David Sullivan and Co. have to push in the final hours of the window to get a deal done, rather than taking any further unnecessary risks.
