Police have launched an investigation after a Glasgow beauty salon was set alight last night sparking an emergency response.
The House of Vain by Regan in Bridgeton was deliberately torched just after 11.30pm on Sunday, April 20. Emergency crews including police and firefighters, raced out to the premises on Greenland Street after the alarm was raised.
Neighbouring properties were evacuated “as a precaution” and the road shut down as 999 teams tackled the blaze. There were no reported injuries, Glasgow Live reports.
Police Scotland have launched a blaze probe after confirming the fire is being treated as wilful.
An eyewitness reported see “a large police presence at Sandy Park, Glasgow Green” in the early hours of Monday morning. They added the beauty salon was “burnt out.”
The salon’s owner Regan took to social media to tell customers about the devastating blaze as she said damage had been caused to the shop by crews dousing out flames.
A post on House of Vain by Regan read: “Got woke up last night at 1am to police at the door telling me someone’s tried to set fire to the shop.
“Thankfully from what I’ve heard the majority of the damage is to the outside of the shop, it was caught quickly and most damage was caused mostly by the fire men needing to gain entry to the shop to put the fire out.
“However, the grind doesn’t stop I’ve never been one to let things get me down and I won’t let anybody wake up thinking they have taken anything from me or ruined anything for me I’m going to be back better then ever an excuse for a new shop front and it’s business as usual for me.
