Bristol Rovers have confirmed their third signing of deadline day and 13th of the summer window, bringing in 19-year-old forward Freddie Issaka on loan from Plymouth Argyle.

The Truro-born attacker has played three times for Plymouth so far this season, making a total of 39 senior appearances for the club since joining from Truro City in 2021. This will be his first loan spell.

19 of those appearances came in the Championship last season which saw the teenager score one goal.

Head Coach Darrell Clarke said to club media: “Freddie is a talented and brave attacker who has already performed well in the Championship and League One despite his youthful age.

“His progress in recent seasons with Plymouth has been impressive and we’re happy to welcome him to Rovers as he continues his development.”

Director of football Ricky Martin added: “Freddie has electric pace to burn and a fearless ability to take on opponents one-v-one.

“Bringing Freddie in on loan is the final piece in this window for us and we know he is a really exciting attacking option that I’m sure, with the support of the Gasheads, will bring plenty of memorable, game-changing moments.”
