Leeds United fans have let their fury with the club’s disastrous deadline day be known in the replies to the club’s first social media post since the transfer window closed.
Dread from it, run from it, hide from it, the fury of Leeds United fans will arrive all the same after yet another calamitous deadline day for the history books.
The task was very clear for Leeds on the final day of the summer transfer window: enhance Daniel Farke’s attack with at the very least one creative player.
Farke had made it clear his side needed further forward signings to have enough firepower to survive in the Premier League, while the 49ers had promised there would be moves late in the window and that every penny possible would be spent.
They were cheques the owners wrote but could not cash and the transfer window closed without any new recruits.
Leeds have at least strengthened well defensively within their 10 summer signings, but the lack of attacking flair, especially after allowing Largie Ramazani to go on loan to Valencia, has not gone down well with fans, to say the least.

Leeds United’s official social media channels were conspicuously quiet on deadline day and well into the following day on Tuesday.
The club didn’t even post confirmation of Darko Gyabi’s move to Hull City or the release of their brand new Adidas trefoil clothing range, perhaps in fear of the wrath that awaited them when they did.
MORE LEEDS UNITED STORIES
Leeds finally published a post on X, formerly Twitter, at 11:41am on Tuesday, over 24 hours since their last post of Ilia Gruev’s midfield heatmap, which was also met with derision.
Tuesday’s post was about the 10 Leeds players who will be representing their countries during the international break, but fans in the replies cared little about that.

“UNDERWOOD OUT!!!” from user @MrROSSii1990 is the very first reply, regarding sporting director Adam Underwood, who is getting a lot of criticism for the way the window ended.
User @pdb1980 sarcastically asked: “How many months of planning did it take for you to write this tweet?”
“We haven’t forgotten yesterday,” @LeedsLadSam1 replied, while @lister_llufc said: “Not bothered, where’s the money gone?”
Imagine if youd signed a mobile centre forward, premier league right winger, attacking midfielder and Ampadu cover.
There could have have been 14
Including Schmidt 🤣🤣🤣

“That’s not an announcement of a new signing,” @MOTweets1919 said. “Where are the last ones we were promised?”
@JakeAnderton posted: “Even the manager thinks we’re going down,” which goes a long way to explaining the breadth of anger fans are feeling.
Some are calling for heads to roll. @Leeds25Lee posted: “Sack or got to make changes to the recruitment department after this.
“The ceo has to go as well. We started the window really well. But we needed attackers, everyone knew this. Farke has been saying for the last few weeks and it’s been a disaster since.”
@AdamLeeds1992 said: “So we’re just going to pretend nothing happened. Incompetent failures get out of the club”
When are Robbie Evans & Adam Underwood going to front up to and answer questions about the debacle of the transfer window?
Not some in house controlled interviews an actual press conference with reporters, it should not be left up to Farke to defend it.

What went wrong for Leeds United on transfer deadline day?
Leeds were at least active in the window on deadline day, but they should never have been in a position where they were still in desperate need of new signings with little time left on the clock.
The Whites had missed out on several playmaker signings in the final week of the window, with Emi Buendia, Christiantus Uche and Facundo Buonanotte all targeted.
That left few options on deadline day, but Fulham’s Harry Wilson emerged as a target. After a loan offer was rejected, a deal was quickly agreed and the transfer looked on.
However, with the deal sheet submitted, Fulham pulled the plug late on and Leeds were left with nothing.
There is still time to salvage things, though, as free agents like Christian Eriksen or Josh Brownhill could be signed outside of the window.
