Helen Flanagan said she’s “going to channel being evil” as she shared her excitement for her new role. The former Coronation Street star has joined the cast of a huge pantomime coming to the Auditorium at M&S Bank Arena this Christmas. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will run from December 12 to 28 with a star-studded cast.
The actress and reality TV star is set to play the role of Evil Queen in the pantomime. She will appear alongside comedy star Bippo as Muddles, Andy Brennan as Dame Dolly, X Factor star Sean Smith as Prince, Ellis Lloyd As Snow White and Rebecca Lake as Fairy.
Dressed in the stunning sparkly red dress she is set to wear for the show, Helen joined her new castmates today (September 2) as they spoke about the magical show set to entertain families this winter.
Speaking about her new role, Helen told the ECHO: “I’m excited. Yes, I’ve got to channel being my evil self. I think I could quite easily be a princess but I’m not a singer.

“So, I’m going to channel being evil. I’ve got a few months to rehearse. So I’m sure I can be an evil queen.”
The actress has previously shared her love for the city and told the ECHO in 2023 that “Scouse girls do have the best fashion sense”. Speaking to the ECHO today, Helen explained why she loves Liverpool as a city.

She said: “I’m very much a Northerner and I just think it’s got such a good vibe to it. It’s got a fun vibe. I love Scousers.
“Everyone’s so friendly, it’s just warm – I love Liverpool.”
Much-loved pantomime favourite Bippo, who is set to perform his tenth pantomime at the arena, shared Helen’s sentiment. He said: “It’s amazing. I think the audience, I’ve said this to other people, they don’t just laugh at you but they kind of jeer you on in Liverpool.
“It’s not like they just sit and watch a show. They laugh, and they get quite sort of feisty with it, like ‘go on lad’. I was doing a show three years ago here and this bloke just walked up on stage in his trainers and trackies and he went ‘mate you’re boss’ and gave me a hug and just walked back off.

“No where else in England they’d do that. And I think that’s what’s great about it, you don’t just go ‘oh they were lovely today’. When you’ve done a good show here you like feel it.”
Dame Dolly star Andy Brennan, another returning favourite at the arena, added: “They’re up for it aren’t they. Liverpool audiences are up for a party.”
