Junior Firpo absolutely loves Leeds United, despite leaving the club this summer to re-join Real Betis in Spain.
Following a four-year stay at Elland Road, Real Betis always seemed like Firpo’s next move after leaving Leeds United. Even if, at one stage, it was said Firpo was in talks with Leeds over a new deal at Elland Road.
Leeds had to find a Firpo alternative and landed on Gabriel Gudmundsson and James Justin to bolster their defensive ranks in the full-back areas. It was a shame to lose Firpo but there were issues.
Among wage concerns, Graham Smyth expected Firpo’s contract length to be an issue. It was then said that Firpo’s agents said remaining at Leeds was ‘unlikely’. Betis then made their move ahead of other interested clubs.

The 29-year-old was outstanding last season, and Firpo became one of five Leeds players honoured in the PFA Team of the Season recently in the Championship.
It’s been a slow start to life back in La Liga for Firpo so far, but his attack-minded nature is always likely to land some goal involvements as a left-back or left-sided wing-back.

Firpo has still been watching Leeds and he loved Ilia Gruev’s performance against Everton during the opening game of Leeds’ season.
Firpo thinks Leeds are the best fans in the world. He also loves that Leeds has been his home for his family as well. West Yorkshire was where his children were raised for the majority of their lives.

It’s fair to say that a number of players were blown away by the scenes in the city centre during the afternoon of the parade.
During a particularly raucous part of livestream, Firpo can just about be heard saying: “This is incredible.
“Look at this. I’ve never seen something like that. I won a title with Barcelona.
“I love you. I love you all. You are the best fans in the world.”
Now, Leeds will remain a permanent part of his body forever, and Leeds fans will love the gesture.
