A hit-and-run driver is being hunted by police after a pedestrian suffered serious injuries in Birmingham.

She was struck by a car on Audley Road, Stechford, this afternoon, Wednesday, September 3.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said the woman was taken to the city’s QE hospital with potentially serious injuries.

Police said the driver left the scene of the incident.

No arrests have been made and inquiries are ongoing.

Officers are appealing for information.

A West Midlands Police spokesman told BirminghamLive: “We were called to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in Audley Road, Stechford, at around 1.45pm today, where the driver of the vehicle then left the scene.

“The pedestrian, a woman, was taken to hospital to be assessed for her injuries which are thankfully not believed to be life threatening or life changing.

An ambulance service spokesman told BirminghamLive: “We were called to reports of a collision involving a car and pedestrian on Audley Road at 1.30pm, one ambulance attended the scene.

“On arrival we discovered one patient, a woman who was the pedestrian.

“She was treated for potentially serious injuries before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.”
