Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 is set to return to Liverpool this month. The ocean liner will make a two night stay in the city as part of its 12-night British Isles cruise. The voyage is planned to depart from Southampton on September 14.

Before arriving in Liverpool, she will spend a day at sea, visit Cobh in Ireland where passengers will be able to disembark and visit the charming seaside town of Cork, and then spend another day at sea. Queen Mary 2 (QM2) will arrive in the city in the evening of Wednesday, September 17 which is the fourth day of the cruise.

The ship will remain in the city until Friday, September 19.

On the cruise’s itinerary, Cunard describes Liverpool as its “spiritual home”. It states: “Liverpool, Cunard’s spiritual home, is a unique city in the north of England. It’s energetic and modern, but at the same time has an unmistakable taste of the 60s.”

She will then arrive back in Southampton on Friday, September 26 where passengers will finish their cruise.

Cunard’s QM2 celebrated its 400th transatlantic crossing with a visit to Liverpool in September 2024. The visit marked Queen Mary 2’s eighth call at Liverpool.

Constructed between 2002 and 2003, the ship, which is Cunard’s flagship, is 345m long and 72m high, previously dominating the skyline when berthed in Liverpool.

Cunard’s website states: “On board, she possesses all the luxury and expansive facilities you would expect from Cunard, including 15 restaurants and bars, five swimming pools, a theatre, a ballroom, a casino and even the first planetarium at sea.”

The ship can hold 2,691 guests and has 1,173 crew members on board.
