Lady Victoria Hervey, Prince Andrew’s former flame, recently expressed her surprise at the durability of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s marriage . Known for her provocative opinions, Lady Victoria told Closer magazine that she perceives the couple’s relationship as having hit a few bumps in the road lately.

The socialite, who allegedly had a brief romance with the Duke of York in 1999, shared with the publication: “I’m amazed their marriage has lasted as long as this – I’m sure it’s only because of the kids, because it seems to have been quite rocky for a while. She got him to move his whole life, and now she’s back where she grew up.”

Her remarks follow Meghan’s declaration on entrepreneur Jamie Kern Lima’s podcast several months ago, where she affirmed that she and Harry, 40, will be together “forever” and are experiencing “more of a honeymoon period” than ever before. The revelation comes as it was reported Meghan Markle’s post-royal actions ‘would have disappointed’ Princess Diana.

Two years post their 2018 nuptials, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down from their senior roles within the Royal Family and relocated to Montecito, California. They currently reside there with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

In the coming days, Prince Harry is set to return to the UK to attend The WellChild Awards, a visit that coincides with the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s passing on September 8, reports the Express.

While it remains unconfirmed whether the King will meet his youngest son upon his return, Lady Victoria opined that Prince Harry would need to demonstrate he’s a “changed man” before being welcomed back into the family fold.

This follows Harry and Meghan’s explosive sit-down with Oprah Winfrey in 2021 regarding their Royal Family experiences, followed shortly by the release of a shocking memoir packed with allegations about his family relationships.

Lady Victoria’s latest remarks about Prince Harry and Meghan emerge after the Duchess dropped the second episode of her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, on August 26.

Netflix just unveiled the data for the ‘Top 10 Shows’ in the UK covering August 25 to August 31, with Meghan’s program notably absent from the rankings.

The second season of With Love, Meghan premiered on August 26, featuring Meghan Markle creating arts and crafts while welcoming celebrity pals and culinary experts to a leased estate to explore her motto “Love is in the details”.

Though it missed the top 10, reports previously surfaced that Meghan will appear in a holiday edition of her show this December. Archewell Productions’ press statement announced: “This December, join Meghan in Montecito for a magical holiday celebration”.

“Together, friends and family deck the halls, create holiday feasts, craft heartfelt gifts, and share lots of laughs – with simple how-tos to follow at home. It’s a holiday wonder with warmth, tradition, and a generous dose of joy.”
