Name of PSNI officer who survived murder attempt appears on republican bonfire in Derry
PSNI Chief Constable Jon Boutcher has said the failure of others to tackle bonfire-related issues left police “stepping in at the last minute” once again.
Speaking at this month’s public meeting of the Policing Board, the senior officer explained that this summer, around 300 bonfires were held across Northern Ireland, with 16 flagged as causing concern.
