Prince William is set to “get drunk” with the Canadian actor and comedian Eugene Levy in a travel series this autumn.

The Prince of Wales appears to make the suggestion in a trailer for the third series of The Reluctant Traveler With Eugene Levy released by AppleTV on Thursday. Levy is a famously deadpan Canadian actor, best known for the comedy series Schitt’s Creek.

On what appears to be a walk through Windsor Great Park, William, 43, can be heard asking Levy, 78: “Was getting drunk with Prince William on your bucket list?”

Levy, who plays Johnny Rose in Schitt’s Creek, grins and replies, “That’s the bucket,” as a laughing William says: “That’s the bucket, is it?”

Earlier in the trailer, aerial shots of Windsor Castle are accompanied by a caption revealing that Levy will be “living the royal life in the United Kingdom”.

Levy is then seen walking around the grounds, as a voiceover says: “Oh my. It doesn’t get much better than that.”

Moments later, he walks down the stairs at what appears to be a black-tie event at the castle, adjusting his bow tie.

The eight-episode season, set to premier globally on September 19, will follow Levy as he travels around Canada, the US, Austria, England, India, Ireland, Mexico and South Korea, ticking off a “bucket list” of experiences — seemingly against his will.

“Now that I’m considered something of a traveller, I’ve challenged myself to complete my own bucket list,” he says in the short teaser, “before actually kicking the bucket.”

Elsewhere, Levy, who also starred in the 1999 film American Pie, is seen celebrating the Day of the Dead in Oaxaca, Mexico, and St Patrick’s Day in Ireland, and riding in an open-top bus in the UK.

As well as his royal guest, the actor will be joined by a host of other famous faces, including the singer Michael Bublé, the Indian former cricketer Rahul Dravid and the K-pop boy band Nowz. Levy travelled to Finland and the Maldives in the first two series.

Schitt’s Creek: why an obscure series became a TV phenomenon

William has previously had tie-ins with Apple, recording a podcast for its Time to Walk series in 2021.

Earlier this year, he made an appearance on Amazon’s Clarkson’s Farm, in which he revealed that Prince George, 12, was a fan of the show.

It is not known when the prince filmed his cameo for the series and William has not met Levy publicly before.
