Two men have been arrested after a double stabbing on a busy Bristol street in broad daylight.
Emergency services were called to Stapleton Road at around 2.40pm on Friday, September 5 to reports a man had been assaulted.
A man has been taken to hospital in a critical condition, with injuries described as life threatening, Avon and Somerset Police has said. Two men, aged 19 and 41, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
The 19-year-old suspect has been taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Neighbourhood Chief Inspector Serena Serjeant said: “This was a shocking attack and we are carrying out urgent enquiries to understand the full circumstances.
“As a result, there’s a heavy police presence in the area at the moment and a cordon is in place in Stapleton Road to allow this work to take place.
“We would urge anyone who has any information to please report it to us.”
A cordon is in place on Stapleton Road from Easton Way.
Armed police officers have been reported at the scene, with South West Ambulance Service crews and Avon Fire and Rescue Service.
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 14:38hrs on Friday 05 September to an incident in Bristol.
“We sent one double-crewed land ambulance, an operations officer, a first responder, a critical care car and the hazardous area response team to the scene.
“We conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Southmead Hospital.”
