Martin Jaeger, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany, who is leaving office, addressed Ukrainians, expressing his support and gratitude.
According to Ukrinform, the diplomat’s video message was published by the German Embassy on the social network X.
“After two intense and eventful years, my time as ambassador of Germany to Ukraine is coming to an end today [Friday]. It has been an honor for me to represent my country here in Ukraine at this special time. We have experienced many events, both good and bad. Pain and fear, which, as I have learned from you, can be overcome through hope and friendship… Ukraine has deeply impressed me – its people, their courage, determination, and unwavering belief in freedom and a bright future. I want to thank everyone who has been with me on this journey… I am leaving Ukraine as an Ambassador, but I remain closely connected to this country,” said Jaeger.
According to him, a new German Ambassador will arrive in Kyiv in mid-September.
Martin Jaeger also stressed that Germany stands firmly on the Ukrainian side.
