Armed cops swooped on a busy Glasgow street after reports of a man with a weapon left two men injured.

Officers raced to Tollcross Road, at the junction with Braidfauld Street, around 11.25am on Saturday after frantic calls from the public.

Locals watched on in shock as armed units sealed off the area, with one man rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

In a clip taken at the scene, a heavy police presence can be seen on Tollcross Road outside local café La Case de Caffe. Armed officers dressed in black and carrying large firearms swoop in as part of the response.

At least three police cars are visible, with the area cordoned off while officers take control of the situation. Shocked bystanders can be seen watching on as the drama unfolds.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “An investigation is under way following a report of a man in possession of a weapon in Tollcross Road at Braidfauld Street, Glasgow. Police were made aware around 11.25am pm Saturday, 6 September, 2025.

“Two men were injured and one was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary. A search of the area has been carried out and officers have recovered a bladed weapon. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
