Fans have seen plenty of famous faces watching the tennis at the 2025 US Open…

Every year, some of the biggest celebrities in the world travel to New York, taking in some of the action on Arthur Ashe Stadium.

The likes of Ludacris, Rory McIlroy, Karl Anthony Towns, and Hugh Jackman have all been spotted at the US Open, as have several other big names from the worlds of sport, music, and Hollywood.

Perhaps the biggest ‘celebrity’ of them all will be in attendance for the men’s final on Sunday, as President Donald Trump is set to make an appearance.

The 45th and 47th President of the United States hasn’t been seen at the US Open in ten years, but who won the last match he watched at Flushing Meadows?

Back in 2015, before he had been elected president, Trump attended the US Open quarterfinal match between Serena Williams and Venus Williams.

Reportedly entering the stadium to a chorus of boos, Trump sat down to watch the Williams sisters duke it out on Arthur Ashe.

Serena Williams, looking to complete the Calendar Grand Slam, following her wins in Melbourne, Paris, and London, took the first set 6-2 against her older sister.

Not prepared to go down without a fight, Venus Williams stepped into another gear in the second, levelling the quarterfinal at 2-6, 6-1.

Emerging victorious in a deciding set, Serena Williams picked up the win, advancing to the last four in New York.

Trump will be hoping to witness another thriller when he watches Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz play in the US Open final on Sunday.

But how do the players feel about the president choosing to attend the final?

Carlos Alcaraz says what he thinks about Donald Trump attending the US Open final

After Alcaraz beat Novak Djokovic in his semifinal match, he was asked about Trump’s plans to attend the final during his press conference.

“I think that it is a privilege for the tournaments to have the president from every country just to support the tournament, to support tennis, and to support the match,” he said.

“For me, playing in front of him, I will try not to think about it. I don’t want myself to be nervous because of it, but I think attending the tennis match is great for tennis to have the president at the final.

“It’s great for tennis, but on Sunday, my job is to play my best tennis and not let anything else get in the way.”

Alcaraz won’t want to be distracted by Trump on Sunday, as he prepares for his 15th career meeting with Sinner.

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner’s head-to-head record

The Spaniard and Italian have played two Grand Slam finals already in 2025, winning one each, setting themselves up for a season decider on Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Alcaraz’s win over Sinner in the Roland Garros final was an instant classic, as the Spaniard saved championship points on his way to a thrilling five-set win.

Some questioned whether the defeat would have a long-lasting effect on Sinner, but they needn’t have worried.

Returning to a Grand Slam final at SW19, Sinner faced off against Alcaraz once more.

After losing the first set 4-6, Sinner rattled off three in a row to lift his maiden Wimbledon title on Centre Court.

Only time will tell if he can repeat the feat at the US Open, but you certainly won’t want to miss any of the action.

The 2025 US Open final between Alcaraz and Sinner will take place on Sunday, September 7.
