A restaurant at the centre of a huge emergency services response after diners fell ill has announced a temporarily closure and apologised to customers ‘for any inconvenience’.
Police, fire crews and paramedics were called to Dosa Kingss in Sale at lunchtime yesterday (September 6) following reports a number of diners had been taken ill.
Emergency services attended he venue on Northenden Road at around 12.40pm. It is understood several customers were treated inside the restaurant after becoming unwell.
According to Greater Manchester Police, people were treated at the scene for ‘minor reactions’. Another diner is believed to have been affected more seriously.

The Manchester Evening News understands the incident is related to food eaten at the South Indian street kitchen and bar.
Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and police spent several hours managing the area on Sunday afternoon. Pictures from the scene shared on social media showed a significant response by the emergency services.
Northenden Road was closed for a time while police, fire crews and paramedics were called to the scene. Investigators quickly ruled out a gas leak, say police.

The M.E.N. was told initially at least eight people were poorly, and one of those more seriously than the others. It is now believed the number who fell ill is in double figures. Police have stressed none were seriously ill.

By Saturday evening, Greater Manchester Police had left the scene and officers have now handed the matter to officials from Trafford Council.
The M.E.N. has made a number of approaches to Dosa Kingss for comment. The restaurant has not responded but it has issued a brief statement on its Instagram and Facebook pages.
In the statement, the restaurant said: “Dear valued customers, due to unforeseen circumstances, we are temporarily closed. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and truly appreciate your understanding and support. We look forward to serving you again.”

A spokesperson for GMP said on Saturday: “At around 12.40pm today (6 September), we received a report of people becoming unwell at a restaurant on Northenden Road, Sale.
“Emergency services quickly attended and several people were treated at the scene for minor reactions. Enquiries into the incident are currently ongoing.”
