Aston Villa are said to have made Jean-Philippe Mateta “a priority target” in the January transfer window.
Premier League rivals Leeds United and Newcastle United are also interested in the Crystal Palace striker, reports Caughtoffside.
The Eagles are said to be demanding £40m for the 28-year-old Frenchman.
Mateta’s contract at Selhurst Park runs out in 2027 and talks over a new deal are said to have taken place.
He was a standout performer in Oliver Glasner’s side last season, scoring 17 goals in all competitions as Palace won the FA Cup.
He has also already scored three times so far this season, including against Unai Emery’s Villa as Palace won 3-0 at Villa Park in the Premier League before the international break.
