The Princess of Wales will be joining her husband to commemorate and celebrate the life of Queen Elizabeth II today, on the third anniversary of her passing. William was originally due to attend the engagement in Sunningdale alone but it is understood Kate was keen to join her husband to celebrate the life of the late Queen.

The King and Queen are not set to publicly mark the anniversary today, having attended church in Balmoral yesterday. Sir Keir Starmer and his wife Lady Victoria Starmer joined the royal couple at Crathie Kirk near Balmoral on Sunday morning, for the regular service. Prayers were said for the Duchess of Kent and to mark the third anniversary of the King’s Accession, with elements of dress reflecting the period of royal mourning.

Earlier on Monday, Buckingham Palace shared a smiling picture of the late Queen to mark the three-year anniversary of her passing.
