Police were called to Liverpool city centre on Monday following an incident. Rodney Street in the Georgian Quarter area of the city was closed by Merseyside Police this afternoon (September 8).

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said a person suffered a medical episode at the wheel of a vehicle. A number of police vehicles, including two Matrix vans were pictured at the scene just after 3.30pm.

Pictures show emergency services, including North West Ambulance Service in attendance. A Matrix van was blocking Rodney Street at the junction with Mount Street. The person’s condition is unknown at this time.

A large emergency service presence could be seen at the opposite end of Rodney Street, at the junction of Leece Street, which appears to be where the incident has taken place. Leece Street is a main road and busy bus route into the city centre.

Rodney Street has since reopened.
