Temperatures in the mid 20Cs are expected before long

Sunshine is set to return this month as forecasts predict temperatures could return to the mid 20Cs following torrential downpours across the country in early September.
Many areas saw some much needed rain since the beginning of the month after a very dry spring and summer.
Low pressure moving in from the Atlantic has brought showers and they are expected to continue over the coming week, with strong winds reaching gale force alongside gusts of up to 50mph by Wednesday and Thursday.
But maps from WXCharts show a more settled picture for the start of next week with Monday, September 15, seeing the warmest temperatures in the Midlands where it could reach the mid-20Cs.
More widely across England the mercury is likely to stick around the 20C mark.
For those on the western coast it may be slightly cooler, with Scotland possibly seeing temperatures drop into high single figures, writes the Mirror.
The weather then is likely to remain warm during that week with temperatures in the mid to high 20Cs for the south and central parts of England.
A weather forecast from the Met Office for September 12 to 21 predicts that this period will start wet but that there may be some “longer spells of drier weather”.
It reads: “This period is likely to start out unsettled, with low pressure dominating the pattern. This will mean showers or longer spells of rain will affect most of the UK at times.
“Some heavy rain or showers are expected in places, most often in the west and north. Thunderstorms and hail are also possible, as are some spells of strong winds, especially if any deep areas of low pressure develop and affect the UK.
“Later in the period, there may be some longer spells of drier weather that develop, especially towards the south, with more in the way of sunshine due to higher pressure. Temperatures will likely be close to average or slightly below overall, but may rise above at times in any drier, sunnier spells.”
By the end of September, the forecast is more uncertain. The Met Office states for September 22 to October 6: “This period is likely to be changeable.
“Areas of low pressure are likely at times, especially towards the north of the UK. These will bring spells of rain and showers, some of which are likely to be heavy with a risk of hail and thunder, and some windy conditions, especially if any deep lows form.
“Some drier, more settled spells are also likely, perhaps more particularly early in the period when higher pressure may be more dominant, especially towards the south. Temperatures are likely to be close to or a little above average overall, although chilly nights with some fog patches are possible when and where skies are clear and winds light.”
