The producers of Tom Morris’ new contemporary production of Shakespeare’s Othello at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in London have announced full casting and creative team.

Othello is playing at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from 23 October 2025 to 17 January 2026.

Already announced are David Harewood OBE (Homeland, Best of Enemies) as Othello, Toby Jones OBE (Mr Bates vs the Post Office, Detectorists) as Iago and Caitlin FitzGerald (Succession, Masters of Sex) as Desdemona; also Vinette Robinson (Boiling Point) as Emilia, and Olivier Award-winner Luke Treadaway (Cabaret, West End) as Cassio.

They will be joined by David Ahmad as Gratiano; Gethin Alderman as Nicos, Understudy Roderigo and Lodovico; Ewan Black as Montano, Understudy Iago and Fight Captain; Tom Byrne as Roderigo; Jonathan Cobb as Telemachos, Understudy Cassio, Montano and Memet; Peter Guinness as Brabantio; Felix Hayes as Duke of Venice; Jasmin Hinds as Julio/Julia, Understudy Emilia, Bianca and Nicos; Wela Mbusi as Memet, Marcus and Understudy Othello and Telemachos; Jude Owusu as Lodovico; Tom Peters as Vincenzio and Understudy Brabantio, Duke of Venice and Gratiano; and Rose Riley as Bianca and Understudy Desdemona.

Promising to be an explosive new production, Othello is directed by Tony Award winner Tom Morris OBE (War Horse), and music for the production will be by multi-award winning musician and composer PJ Harvey.

The show is set to be the first of a series of contemporary Shakespeare productions created by Tom Morris for Chris Harper Productions, to be staged in the West End over the next five years.
