Hull FC have made the decision to recall one of their players from a loan deal after a number of players were banned.
The Black and Whites lost 18-4 to Hull KR on Sunday afternoon in a game where tempers flared with Hull FC accused of becoming ‘grubby’ as they lost control in the latter stages.
As a result of that, three players have been suspended with Jack Ashworth also set for a huge ban with the forward handed a Grade E charge and scheduled to face a disciplinary tribunal.
John Cartwright will therefore be without four players through suspension, adding to the big injury list, ahead of this week’s must-win game against Warrington Wolves.
One of the players to be banned was hooker Amir Bourough and aith that in mind, the Black and Whites have made the decision to recall hooker Denive Balmforth from his season-long loan with Catalans Dragons.

The Black and Whites were short on troops with John Cartwright scrambling to get together a competitive side but recalling Balmforth relieves a lot of pressure, as Cade Cust can resume in the halves.
A short statement on social media from Hull FC confirmed the recall, as they announced: “Hull FC can confirm that Denive Balmforth has been recalled from his loan spell at Catalans Dragons.
“The hooker will be available for selection for Saturday’s Betfred Super League R26 fixture against Warrington Wolves.”
Catalans Dragons, where Balmforth has been on loan since Round 16, also confirmed the news.
They said: “Catalans Dragons confirm that Denive Balmforth has left the club with immediate effect.
“The young hooker, who joined on loan from Hull FC in June, has been recalled by his club.
“He made 10 Super League appearances and scored 3 tries with the Dragons.
“The club would like to thank him and wishes him all the best for the future.”
