A parade and service will take place on Sunday, September 14 at the Cenotaph on Linthorpe Road, organised by the 1869 (Middlesbrough) Squadron Air Cadets to mark the 85th anniversary of the pivotal Second World War air campaign.
Air cadet squadrons from across the region will gather for the ceremony, which begins at 11.30am and will include a short service and wreath-laying.
Councillor Linda Lewis, Middlesbrough Council’s armed forces champion, said: “The Battle of Britain was a pivotal moment in our nation’s history, and the annual parade and service is deserved recognition of all those who played their part.
“It’s our chance to pay tribute to the many brave men and women who laid down their lives for the freedoms we enjoy to this day, and that is a sacrifice we will never forget.”
