We’ve got a release date for Football Manager 26! It’s been announced by SEGA today that the game will be coming to PC, Xbox consoles, PS5 and mobile on November 4, 2025 – with the Switch version to follow on December 4 instead.
As we’ve already covered here at Pure Xbox, Football Manager 26 is overhauling the series with a new user interface, radically improved visuals for matchday, and even a brand-new game engine – they’ve switched to Unity for this one.
In other words, this is going to be a very different experience to FM24 when it launches in November:
Every match brings greater drama and spectacle thanks to new volumetric animations from real-life matches and glorious, upgraded on-pitch visuals. FM26 delivers new levels of authenticity, with the newly-licensed Premier League providing the ultimate stage for this redefined era.
A new world of possibilities is opened up by the arrival of Women’s Football. Seamlessly integrated into the FM ecosystem as one footballing world, this debut is backed by the most comprehensive database of its kind and a host of licensed competitions set to be revealed in the coming weeks.
A re-imagined user interface gives players greater control and influence over the make-or-break decisions in every career. Designed to be more intuitive for all players from series newcomers to FM veterans, FM26’s User Interface underpins further improvements across tactics, scouting and recruitment.
Better yet, Sports Interactive says that your game saves from FM23 and FM24 will carry over to Football Manager 26, although naturally you can’t convert a PC save to the Console version and vice-versa.
They’ve also shared a look at the new user interface for the game on social media today:
Our biggest UI upgrade in a generation 🤩
A new, intuitive way to explore. Tailor-made for the modern manager.

Finally, it should be mentioned that Football Manager 26 will have an approximately two-week early access period for those who pre-purchase it on PC, with the retail price being £49.99 (plus a 10% discount from certain retailers).
The other option is to simply wait for the release on November 4th, at which time it’ll be included as part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. This should be a really interesting one to check out in a couple of months!
