Man United might be finished for the summer when it comes to transfer arrivals, but the managerial merry-go-round never stops and some other leagues’ windows remain openRuud van Nistelrooy could be back in the dugout soon(Image: PA)
After a busy summer of ins and outs, Manchester United’s focus will soon return to the Premier League.
Ruben Amorim’s side won their last game before the international break, beating Burnley thanks to a last-gasp penalty from Bruno Fernandes. It means they sit above neighbours Manchester City as they go into Sunday’s derby, with City beaten by Brighton last time out.
United clinched one last signing on transfer deadline day, bringing in Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp. The Belgian is set to make his debut this weekend, while Andre Onana – the man he has replaced between the sticks – ready to get back into action on loan at Trabzonspor.
Here, we bring you the latest media reports related to Manchester United, along with our take on both.
Van Nistelrooy’s job hope
Ruud van Nistelrooy has been out of work since suffering Premier League relegation with Leicester, but he might be back in the dugout before long.
According to ESPN’s Karim El Ahmadi (via Sport Witness), former Manchester United striker and caretaker boss Van Nistelrooy could be an option for the top job at FC Twente after the dismissal of Joseph Oosting.

Twente, who have three points from their first four games, have also been linked with former United boss Erik ten Hag and his one-time assistant Rene Hake, among others.
Tom Victor of The Manchester Evening News says: Van Nistelrooy demonstrated his managerial qualities in the Netherlands with PSV before moving to England. A return to his homeland could help him prove his Leicester spell was the exception not the rule and he still has plenty of time to get his coaching career back on track.
Martial set for Mexico
Anthony Martial looks to be on the move again, justone year after joining AEK Athens following his Manchester United release.

The French striker signed a three-year deal with AEK in 2024, but Fabrizio Romano reports that he has been given the green light to travel to Mexico.
Monterrey reached the Club World Cup round of 16 over the summer, going unbeaten through the group stage before losing 2-1 to Borussia Dortmund.
They count Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos and his former Spain team-mate Sergio Canales among the big names in their squad.
Tom Victor of The Manchester Evening News says: Martial scored seven goals in 16 league appearances for AEK last season, but missed games through injury. He has shown he still knows where the goal is – as long as he can stay fit.
