The body of a 56-year-old man has been discovered at a capital property.
Emergency services descended on New Lairdship Place at around noon on Saturday September 13 following the report of a death.
Shocked locals noticed the road had been locked down with one commenting there was a ‘serious police presence.’

A forensic team with three officers in white suits were spotted at the scene.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal shortly.
An eye witness, who wished to remain anonymous, previously told Edinburgh Live: “Broomhouse is normally a really quite place during the day and you don’t normally see an emergency service response like that in a residential street.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of the death of a 56-year-old man at a property on New Lairdship Place, Edinburgh, around 12pm on Saturday, 13 September, 2025.
“There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
