All trains are cancelled between Edinburgh and Newcastle for the next two weekends.
Public body Network Rail have said lines will be closed across Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 of September as well as on the following Saturday 20 and Sunday 21.
The closures are in place so that improvements works such as laying a new track, improving crossings and installing drainage systems amongst other works, BBC Scotland reports.

LNER are understood to be offering an alternative train every hours which travels via Carlisla in each direction. Rail replacement buses have also been put in place by operators for customers in Morpeth, Alnmouth, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Reston and Dunbar.
Those using the route have been warned to plan ahead with both CrossCountry and TransPennine Express also putting on replacement bus services.

Lumo meanwhile have said they will only operate from London King’s Cross and Newcastle in both directions and their 8.56pm Saturday service will not operate.
ScotRail trains between North Berwick/Dunbar and Edinburgh will be replaced by buses on Saturdays only.

Network Rail operations director Sam MacDougall said the works were to invest in the “future of rail in the North East”, external.
“We appreciate that this work will mean a couple of weekends of where some journeys will take longer than usual, and we’d like to thank passengers for their patience while we carry out these improvements.”
