Chris Davies has revealed Willum Willumsson and Keshi Anderson missed Birmingham City’s defeat to Stoke City through injury.
Iceland international Willumsson and left-winger Anderson were surprise omissions from the squad that travelled to the Bet365 Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Davies also confirmed that summer signing Kanya Fujimoto was left out of the 20-man squad despite being fit. Fujimoto hasn’t featured in the Championship yet and hasn’t made the squad in three of Blues’ five fixtures.
Blues returned to the Second City with nothing to show for their efforts after Bosun Lawal netted the only goal of the game for the Potters.
Asked for an update on the trio of absentees, Davies delivered some bad news: “Willumsson is injured, Keshi is injured, Kanya was just not involved in the squad today.”
“Those two look like they will be unavailable until the next international break.”
Willumsson and Anderson join Blues’ long-term absentees Lee Buchanan and Scott Wright in the treatment room.
It looks as though Davies will be without the duo for at least Blues’ next four matches before the October international break.
