Three men were arrested in Birmingham city centre – with one set to be sent back to prison.

The unrelated arrests were made by officers in the Southside area on Thursday, September 11.

West Midlands Police said one was wanted for recall to prison and another on suspicion of immigration offences.

The third man was arrested on suspicion of money laundering and human trafficking.

Quang Van, 30, has since been charged with possession of improperly obtained identity documents and possession of criminal property, and appeared before Birmingham magistrates on Friday, September 12.

He was remanded in custody to await trial at Birmingham Crown Court.

The arrests were part of the Operation Fearless crackdown, the force said.
