Detectives have arrested a man after a Sikh woman reported being raped in broad daylight in Oldbury while on her way to work.
The woman, aged in her 20s, told police she was dragged and then attacked on parkland off Tame Road shortly before 8.30am on Tuesday, September 9.
One of her attackers told her to ‘go back to your own country’ or words to that effect following the horrifying sex attack, the Sikh Federation (UK) said.

Officers have spent the last six days desperately searching for ‘two white men’ who were suspected of being involved in the ‘racially-aggravated’ attack.
West Midlands Police last night confirmed officers had arrested a man, aged in his 30s, on suspicion of rape.
It comes after Sikh leaders yesterday urged detectives to step up their efforts to find those responsible.
A force spokesperson said last night: “Officers investigating a racially-motivated rape in Oldbury have this evening arrested a man.
“The man, in his 30s, was detained as part of enquiries into the assault in the Tame Road area on Tuesday morning.
“He remains in custody tonight on suspicion of rape.
“The woman is continuing to receive support as investigations continue.”
Ch Supt Kim Madill, of Sandwell Police, added: “This is a significant development in the investigation and we want to thank the community for their continuing support.
“The investigation remains on-going and we would urge people not to speculate as we work to identify and trace all those who may have been involved.”
