Leeds United’s trip to Wolves this weekend is must-win territory for both sides after a mixed start to the season, but the hosts are facing injury issues, namely for Jørgen Strand Larsen.
Four points from four games for Daniel Farke is a respectable return. However, it’s one that may come under serious scrutiny quite quickly.
That’s because we’ve seen the same weaknesses again at the weekend with United falling to defeat at Craven Cottage. That weakness being a lack of goals, thankfully one shared by this week’s opposition, Wolves.

Jørgen Strand Larsen injury update confirmed, Wolves star set to miss Leeds United clash
Leeds’ next match is simply a must-win. If they don’t want to get sucked to the bottom end of the table, travelling to Molineux against Wolves needs to bring maximum points, really.
Their opponents themselves will see this game as crucial too. Wolves are yet to collect a point after four successive defeats to start the season.
Vitor Pereira hasn’t been helped by the absence of his star striker, Jørgen Strand Larsen. The Norwegian joined permanently from Celta Vigo in the summer for £23million, and his club set a £60million asking price as Newcastle United came calling, and ultimately failing.

Strand Larsen netted 14 last season, and alongside losing Matheus Cunha to Manchester United, Pereira hasn’t been able to call upon his leading marksman yet. That doesn’t look likely to change as Leeds travel to the Black Country on Saturday.
“Day by day, it’s his Achilles tendon, we cannot push, we need to be patient,” Pereira explained about Strand Larsen’s injury, after defeat at Newcastle United – per Nathan Judah.
Injury expert Ben Dinnery has Strand Larsen “ruled out” for this weekend’s game. He expects the Norwegian to return next week, after Leeds’ clash with Wolves.
Leeds United must capitalise on Wolves’ Strand Larsen injury update
This game has to be a win for Leeds. We must ensure we aren’t playing catchup heading into the tough run of games in November and December.
Wolves, meanwhilem, are currently looking weak and we might be playing them at the best time. The issue is they might be saying the same about Leeds.
Strand Larsen’s ongoing injury is actually a major boost for Leeds, and Wolves struggling for goals is something we could do with continuing.
