Cops were called to a report of a man having been injured on Rothesay Gardens, Wemyss Bay around 12.05am on Sunday, September 14.
Emergency services attended, but Raymond Cosgrove, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Glasgow Times previously reported that a 21-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.05am on Sunday, September 14, 2025, officers were called to a report of a man having been injured on Rothesay Gardens, Wemyss Bay.
“Emergency services attended, and a 33-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene
“A 21-year-old man and 28-year-old woman were arrested in connection with assault.
“The 21-year-old man has been charged with assault and is due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Tuesday, September 16. The 28-year-old woman was released pending further inquiry.”

The force went on to confirm that Cosgrove’s family is being supported during this time.
Detective Inspector Nicky Beattie said: “I’m aware this incident will be a cause of concern for people and I would like to confirm Raymond’s family is being supported by specialist officers during this time.”
