Great Western Railway has partnered up with Seatfrog to launch Secret Fares, which will offer huge savings of up to 50% for passengers.
The trial offers mystery departure times between London and South Wales at reduced prices.
Passengers can set their preferred date and time window (morning, afternoon, or evening) and will receive train details 24 hours before departure.
Some example fares include:
- London Paddington to Cardiff: £15
- London Paddington to Newport: £15
- London Paddington to Swansea: £23
Tickets can be booked 3 months in advance and up to 5 days ahead of travel.
Passengers should be aware that tickets are not refundable and railcard discounts do not apply.
The trial will be running until the 31st March 2026, and provided it is successful, it will be rolled out to other locations.
