The restaurant replaces a popular neighbourhood pizzeria which has relocated around the corner

New Greek restaurant Medusa has opened in Waterloo as the owner praises the area as “amazing”. Behind the venue is 30-year-old Adam Noble, from Fazakerley, who already runs the popular Noble’s Kitchen food truck, touring the country to cater to festivals and other events.
Adam had long wanted to open his own restaurant but was waiting until the right site appeared. He found it when the premises of Il Capitano’s – a successful local Italian restaurant – came up for sale on St John’s Road. The owners of the pizzeria are relocating around the corner to a bigger space due to demand.
Officially opening last Saturday, September 13, Adam said the restaurant was immediately full. He told the ECHO: “The atmosphere was great and the customers were loving it.”
Medusa’s menu features classic Greek dishes such as moussaka, served as small plates, with larger grill dishes also available. Adam says the concept has gone down a treat with customers.
He continued: “They loved the food, they loved the tapas-style sharing with the small plates, and they liked that they had the option to get something bigger too.

“They loved the drinks as well; they said the drinks selection is really good and the wines were really nice.”
Adam says he was especially pleased at the positive feedback on the wines as he’d “put a lot of time” into procuring them.
He spoke very highly of the restaurant’s location, St John’s Road, which has been quietly transforming in recent years: “The area’s amazing. I love it here.

“There’s such a sense of community. Everyone’s been so inviting and so accepting. Loads of people are saying it’s getting a bit Lark Lane-ey and they’re keen to see the area develop.
“I’m, above all, excited to see what we can bring to the place.”
Medusa is open from Wednesday to Sunday. From Wednesday until Friday (from 12-4pm), it also offers a lunchtime menu, serving up Greek street food. Adam describes the daytime menu as “smart and small”.
Medusa can be found at 143 St John’s Rd, Waterloo, Liverpool L22 9QE.
