The announcement comes as the foundation marks a major milestone, surpassing £20 million of investment in grassroots football facilities across Wales.
Since its launch in 2022, the foundation has supported more than 200 clubs and benefited at least 35,000 players with improved facilities.
Aaron Ramsey, captain of the Cymru men’s national team, said: “It’s brought me so much pride representing Cymru at three major tournaments including the World Cup so far during my career and seeing the impact it’s made to football at home.
“To continue this success that we’ve seen over the last decade, having the right facilities is so important.
“That’s why I’m so excited to support the Cymru Football Foundation with their ambitions to ensure all communities have access to inspirational and fit-for-future facilities.”
The foundation’s investments include more than £8 million in women and girls’ football and more than £8.5 million in Wales’ most deprived communities.
Aled Lewis, director of the Cymru Football Foundation, said: “We’re elated to have passed the £20m mark in investments across Cymru.
“As someone who has performed at the highest level and contributed so much to Welsh football on and off the pitch, we are thrilled to have Aaron supporting what we do.”
