Spring is likely to prove comfortably the best of these by midsummer, but she returns from a break over a sharp 5f and there will be no room for rustiness. She Went Whoosh is edging down the weights and can go well, but STARTLING is positively prolific in the context of this field, and she’s quickly slipped back to her last winning mark.
There are grounds for expecting better from both Sweet Sister and Tatmeen this evening, but Newfangled and RAQRAAQ bring solid handicap form into the contest and can fight out the finish. A 2lb rise for his latest success might underestimate the selection.
Phoenix Moon was on the up when last seen, and she needs serious consideration on her seasonal return. Just Ten High needs to bounce back from a couple of quiet runs last month, but that’s possible, while Big Bard and Prince Of Bel Lir are capable on their good days. UNAVAILABLE might benefit from the return to 6f though, and she can take advantage of a handy draw.
