FUNDRAISING DAY: Presenter Dan Walker and Ryder Cup winner Danny Willett with golfers
Presenter Dan Walker and Ryder Cup winner Danny Willett have helped raise an incredible £80,000 at Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity’s annual Dan Walker v Danny Willett Golf Day.
The pair hosted the event for the third consecutive year, bringing together teams of supporters and celebrities for a day of golf, fundraising and entertainment.
The money raised will go towards the charity’s Bright Young Dreams campaign, which is transforming children’s mental health services.
The day saw famous faces including Manchester United defender Harry Maguire, who is a charity patron, take part, as well as Oliver Phelps of Harry Potter fame, former Westlife star Brian McFadden, singer and reality star Wes Nelson, and Jamie Christian-Johal, better known as Giant from Gladiators.
Dan Walker said: “It was another incredible day. Thank you to everyone who came, supported, donated, played, volunteered and helped to make it so special.
“I’m blown away by the amount of money we have raised, and I know that is going to make a huge difference to young people through Bright Young Dreams.”
Danny Willett added: “It was a great day with friends from across the UK! We’re beyond grateful to each and every person who attended.
“To have raised more than £80k for such an important cause is amazing.”

John Armstrong, chief executive at Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “We’re so grateful to Dan and Danny for hosting this golf day for the third consecutive year, helping to raise money for Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity.
“I’d like to say a special thanks to the over 100 golfers who attended the event, generously helping us to raise funds to support children’s mental health services.”
The event was supported by Rotherham Golf Club, Veezu and Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity volunteers, as well as headline sponsors HSBC, who brought the Claret Jug along to the event.
Other sponsors included Soloco, Euronics, Gemini AI Chromebook, G&A Fire Protection, Global Windows, Pioneer Construction and Gekko.
Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity also thanked photographers and videographers Andy Chubb and Stuart Turner from LensGo Visual Media for their support.
The charity is hugely grateful to everyone who helped to make this year’s event such a remarkable success.
