Newsreader Debora Estrella, 43, has tragically died in a plane crash as she joined the aircraft with the intention to learn to fly.
Estrella, 43, and pilot Bryan Ballesteros were killed when the small plane went into the ground.
It took place by an industrial estate in Garcia shortly after she had confirmed online that she was learning how to fly.
The Mexican TV star shared a photo of the two-seater Cessna she was learning to fly in and wrote: “Guess what”, ahead of her lesson.
Spanish website Infobae reported that the accident occurred at around 6:50pm and the aircraft suddenly crashed near the Pesqueria River.
It added: “The rapid response of Civil Protection Unit 04 and other rescue teams failed to prevent the death toll of two people.”
Debora, a clearly beloved TV presenter at MMTV, would post photos of her at work on a regular basis.
Her last photo from work was posted just before her death, with the presenter writing: “Buenos dias” as she posed in a black dress in the studio with a gleaming smile on her face.
Her followers have since rushed to the comments to share their heartbreak as the news of her death spread.
One user wrote: “We are very sorry for the loss of Debora, a hug to the whole family.” While another said: “Fly high Debora, rest in peace.” A third said: “Not true, tell me it’s not true.”
A fourth person added: “Deb precious you leave us that of you [sic], that beautiful smile that illuminated us all, the whole multimedia company is bewildered by your departure, rest in peace beautiful, Dtb, fly high.”
Her colleagues also posted a tribute to her, with Multimedia sharing a photo of the presenter and writing: “At Multimedia we are shocked and deeply sorry for the loss of our colleague.
“Deborah Estrella [sic], 43 yeears old, was running the Morning Telediario in Monterrey, since the year 2018; as well as taking over spaces in the news of Milenion Television and the running of the Mexico City Telediario, through Channel 6 on the weekends.
“Deborah died this Saturday, September 20, in a plane crash registered in the muncipality of Garcia, Nuevo Leon.
“We express our deepest condolences to their families and loved ones. Rest in peace, mate.”
