Chris Davies has defended Kyogo Furuhashi as the striker looks to score his first league goal for Birmingham City.
It has been a difficult start for the Celtic hero since his move to the Championship club.
Kyogo has only scored one goal so far this season, coming in the Carabao Cup, and drew another blank again despite the Blues’ 94th minute winner vs Swansea City.
There are some concerns about the Japan international’s form, but the former Celtic assistant manager has backed him to get back to his best.

Having spent almost £10m on the forward, Birmingham were expecting goals from their marquee arrival.
Panic stations aren’t settling in just yet, and Davies has told fans that the 30-year-old will come good.
He said: “He gets chances, that’s what I say about Kyogo. There was another one that came back to him and he’s done an overhead kick, and it’s hit the guy in the face.
“He will score. He will score, I don’t doubt it. You just have to look at the stats, look at the amount of goals he scores. He does know how to score goals.
“What I love about Kyogo is whenever he is on the pitch, I’m very confident he’s going to get a chance and that’s an exciting player to have. I have no worries about Kyogo. I thought he injected good speed and good energy at that point.”
Kyogo Furuhashi should look towards Kelechi Iheanacho as the inspiration for form
While Furuhashi struggles to make his mark down south, the same can’t be said for Kelechi Iheanacho.
Since his post-deadline day arrival, the forward has grabbed a goal and an assist from his first two appearances.
The 28-year-old came in with a point to prove, like Birmingham’s new signing, and now Kyogo can look at Iheanacho as the perfect example of how to silence the doubters.
